Thomas Partey undergoes medical ahead of Al Shabab move

Ghana midfielder Thomas Teye Partey has reportedly undergone his medical examination in Riyadh as he closes in on a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab.

According to reports, Partey completed his medicals at a hospital in Riyadh on Thursday night after arriving in Saudi Arabia.

The former Arsenal star is expected to sign a one-year contract with Al Shabab, with the deal now at an advanced stage.

Partey, who remains an influential figure for the Ghana national team, is set to bring his vast experience from top-level European football to the Saudi Pro League.

The midfielder previously enjoyed a successful spell with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid before moving to Arsenal and Villarreal CF, where he spent several seasons competing at the highest level in Spain, England and Europe.

A move to Al Shabab would represent a fresh journey in Partey’s career as he looks to continue playing at a competitive level while taking on a new challenge in Saudi Arabia.

The Riyadh-based club is expected to officially announce the signing once the remaining formalities have been completed.

Partey’s arrival would further enhance Al Shabab’s squad as the club prepares for the new Saudi Pro League campaign.
