Thomas Partey Pleads Not Guilty to Additional Rape Charges

Ghanaian international Thomas Teye Partey has formally pleaded not guilty to two additional counts of rape during a court appearance at Southwark Crown Court in London on Tuesday, as legal proceedings surrounding the midfielder continue to unfold.

The new allegations are reported to relate to incidents said to have occurred on a single day in December 2020. With the latest charges added, the former Arsenal midfielder now faces a total of seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

Appearing before the court, the 31-year-old maintained his innocence, firmly denying all charges levelled against him as the case proceeds through the UK judicial system.

His defence counsel, Jenny Wiltshire, reaffirmed his position, stressing his continued cooperation with authorities while urging restraint in public commentary due to the ongoing nature of the trial.

“Thomas Partey continues to deny all charges against him. He has cooperated with the police throughout. Given there are ongoing legal proceedings, there will be no further comment,” she stated.

The case, which has attracted widespread attention given Partey’s stature in world football and his long-standing role with the Ghana national team, remains subject to strict legal scrutiny. Authorities have yet to conclude proceedings, with further hearings expected in the coming months.

Legal observers continue to emphasize the importance of due process, as the matter remains active before the courts.

As the judicial process advances, the Villarreal CF midfielder is expected to return for subsequent hearings as both prosecution and defence prepare to present their cases in full.
