Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has expressed gratitude to the Ghanaian public for their well wishes over the weekend after learning that she had been admitted to the hospital due to an unexpected illness.
The Vice President remarked, “I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,” in a press release released on Monday, March 31.
As the nation celebrates Eid Al-Fitr this year, the statement also sent its warmest greetings to the Muslim community.

Following an unexpected sickness on Friday, March 28, 2025, the presidency reported over the weekend that she had received medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
The statement, which was signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a member of parliament and minister of government communications, states that in order to guarantee the vice president’s full recovery, medical professionals have recommended that she pursue additional treatment overseas.
