SWAG Awards Planning Committee Pays Courtesy Call on Goldbod CEO Ahead of 50th Anniversary Celebration

The Planning Committee of the 50th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards has paid a courtesy call on Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., Chief Executive Officer of Goldbod, as part of its stakeholder engagement and sponsorship mobilization efforts toward the landmark Golden Jubilee edition of the prestigious awards ceremony.

The visit, held in Accra, formed part of preparations for the grand awards night scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025. The SWAG delegation was jointly led by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah, and SWAG President, Mr. Kwabena Yeboah.

During the meeting, the team formally introduced the 50th Anniversary SWAG Awards program to the Goldbod CEO and explored possible partnership and sponsorship opportunities aimed at ensuring the success of the event.

Mr. Sammy Gyamfi warmly welcomed the delegation and commended SWAG for its enduring contribution to sports development and professionalism in sports journalism in Ghana. He lauded the association’s consistent efforts in celebrating the nation’s sporting heroes and reaffirmed Goldbod’s readiness to support initiatives that foster excellence, national unity, and youth empowerment through sports.

The Planning Committee, in turn, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Gyamfi and Goldbod for their warm reception and commitment to Ghanaian sports development. They assured that SWAG will continue engaging corporate Ghana to make the Golden Jubilee edition of the SWAG Awards an unforgettable success.

Other members of the SWAG delegation included Mr. Charles Kwadwo Ntim and Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman, both members of the Planning Committee.

Established over five decades ago, the SWAG Awards remains Ghana’s longest-running national awards scheme, serving as a distinguished platform to honor sporting excellence while promoting hard work, discipline, and patriotism among athletes and sports administrators.
