FC Samartex 1996 shot-stopper, Japheth Norvienyo, was crowned as the best goalkeeper of the 2024 Nsenkyire cup competition following his outstanding performance.
FC Samartex delivered an impressive display to host and emerge victorious in the fiercely contested competition, which also featured Nsoatreman, Legon Cities, and Nations FC.
Norvienyo utilized the Nsenkyire cup competition as a platform to showcase his skills and demonstrate what he brings to strengthen the goalkeeping department of the Timber Giants.
The newcomer played in two matches and only conceded one goal. His reflexes, confidence, composure, and prowess in the goal were readily apparent to the football enthusiasts at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.
In an interview with Sax Media, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “I would like to thank the Goalkeepers’ Coach for having faith in me and providing me with the opportunity to defend the goal. It was not easy, but I was prepared for the challenge, and Kofi Baah also played a crucial role in this achievement.”
He further stated, “I aspire to build on this performance when given the opportunity in our future competitions.”
