Basake Holy Stars President, Hon. Simon Ehomah, has called for unity and renewed support from the club’s supporters as the Nzema-based outfit prepares to launch its 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Hon. Ehomah has also rendered an unqualified apology to the club’s faithful over incidents that characterised the 2025/26 season, urging supporters to consign the past to history and unite behind the team as it embarks on a fresh campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Bashiru Bukari on West End Radio’s popular afternoon sports programme, Score Board, the club president expressed remorse over last season’s challenges while appealing for the unwavering support of the supporters.
“We sincerely apologise for what happened during last season’s league. We are sorry, and we humbly ask for your support for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League Season.”
The apology forms part of management’s broader efforts to rebuild trust, mend strained relationships and cultivate a more harmonious atmosphere between the club and its supporters ahead of the new campaign.
Basake Holy Stars announce free gate for GPL opener
In a further gesture aimed at rekindling the bond between the club and its supporters, Basake Holy Stars have announced a FREE GATE for their opening fixture of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Nzema-based side will begin its campaign at home against Swedru All Blacks this Sunday at the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III (AAK) Sports Arena in Ampain.
All supporters will be granted free access to the stadium as management seeks to mobilise a formidable home crowd and create an electrifying atmosphere for the season opener.
The initiative is expected to provide a significant platform for management, players and supporters to reconnect and collectively draw a line under the difficulties of the previous campaign.
Basake Holy Stars finished the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season in 12th position with 46 points, successfully retaining their top-flight status despite an inconsistent campaign.
With the new season presenting a clean slate, the club will be hoping that its renewed appeal for unity will translate into stronger performances and a more competitive campaign.
Sunday’s encounter with Swedru All Blacks will therefore represent Basake Holy Stars’ first opportunity to demonstrate their renewed ambition and establish an encouraging tone for the season.
With management extending an olive branch to the supporters and opening the gates free of charge, the responsibility now shifts to the players to reciprocate that goodwill with a commanding performance and a positive result at the AAK III Sports Arena.
