Nzema-based music sensation Mark Erzuah, popularly known in the entertainment industry as MaQ E, has been crowned the first runner-up in the 2025 edition of Eba Stars Season 5, after an exciting and closely contested competition that saw Odifour Success emerge as the overall winner.
Out of 75 contestants who auditioned for the prestigious music reality show, only 10 finalists advanced to the grand finale. MaQ E’s dynamic stage performances, vocal delivery, and connection with the audience earned him a spot among the top two finalists.
As the first runner-up, the “Mevi Nzema” hitmaker took home a medal, trophy, three pieces of cloth, Blessing Shower Gel, a video project deal, and a brand-new car, courtesy of Faith Homeopathic Clinic, one of the major partners of the event.
In an emotional speech following his victory, MaQ E expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for guiding him through the journey.
“A nobody like me brought this far with people cheering me up, I only give thanks to God. This is my talent, and I’ve been trying to come out professionally with just a few hearing my voice. I believe one day the world will hear about the Son of Nzemaland, MaQ E Musik. I’ll win many awards, even Grammys, to show my gratitude to Trinity and Eba TV. Many thanks for giving me this opportunity to showcase my talent.”
He also revealed the challenges he faced earlier in his career, noting that his family did not initially support his decision to pursue music.
“My family never supported my music at first, so I had to hide it anytime I was involved in entertainment activities. But this time, the support was massive, especially from my senior sister, Jennifer Ade.”
MaQ E extended special appreciation to Ebella, winner of Eba Kids Season 5, and his manager 2Pac, for their immense support throughout the competition.
“I had no idea about this program when I came, but they heard my cry and helped me reach this stage, especially his manager, 2Pac.”
He also expressed gratitude to several dignitaries and supporters who played crucial roles in his success, including: Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP for Ellembelle & Minister for Lands and Natural Resources), Hon. Joseph Kwasi Armah Agyekum (DCE of Ellembelle), Hon. Dorcas Afo Toffey (MP for Jomoro & Deputy Minister for Roads), and Hon. Benedict Boadi (MCE for Jomoro). He also gave thanks to Hon. Enu, Mr. Erzuah (his father), and the people of Awiebo, Basake, and the entire Nzema land.
MaQ E also extended heartfelt thanks to Nana Alloakpokɛ and her Queen Mother, all chiefs and queen mothers in Nzema, and his church elders for their encouragement and blessings.
