Basake Holy Stars kicked off their Ghana Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Eleven Wonders at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi.
The game ended without goals, but left back Kingsford Baffoe was the clear standout, earning the Man of the Match award for his excellent performance.
Baffoe was solid defensively, shutting down threats from the flanks and winning key duels to keep his side safe at the back.
The left-full back also contributed surging forward, supporting attacks with overlapping runs and accurate passes, showing the energy and commitment expected from a modern left back.
The draw gives both Basake Holy Stars and Eleven Wonders their first point of the new season. While Eleven Wonders showed discipline at the back, they lacked cutting edge in attack. Basake, on the other hand, will take positives from their defensive resilience and look to add more sharpness in the final third in upcoming matches.
Basake Holy Stars will over the week travel to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to lock horns with Bechem United in match week two of the Ghana Premier League.
