Known by everyone as Nana Panin or Naa Panin, the late Asantehemaa was born with the name Nana Ama Konadu. After being enstooled as the 14th Asantehemaa on February 6, 2016, she subsequently became Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was born in Merdan, a small hamlet close to Kumasi, in 1927 at the Benyaade Shrine.
Her birth coincided with the restoration of the Asante Confederacy.
She was the daughter of Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who later served as Asantehemaa from 1977 to 2016, and Opanin Kofi Fofie, a carpenter from Besease.
Early Life and Education At a little over a year old, Nana Konadu Yiadom III was separated from her mother and raised by her aunt, Nana Afia Konadu, in Ash-Town, Kumasi.
Despite not receiving a formal education, she underwent a comprehensive informal education, gaining knowledge and skills not taught in a classroom.
In her early teens, she was initiated into womanhood alongside her niece, Nana Abena Ansa.
Later on, she wed Opanin Kwame Boateng, an Aduman-born blacksmith. A Prophecy Realized In the mid-1990s, Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s future was predicted because of her reputation for hard work, humility, and kindness.
Through the Asantehene’s senior linguist, Baffour Akoto, priest Kwaku Firi Bosomfo predicted that the Asantehemaa will one day ascend to the position of Queen. As a result of this prophecy, she became Asantehemaa.

As Asantehemaa, she has been praised for her high level of equity, justice, and fairness.
All cases brought before her have been settled amicably. During her 5th anniversary, she demonstrated her compassionate spirit by making a significant donation to the Mother-Baby Unit (MBU), Pediatric Emergency Care Unit (PICU), and Pediatric Emergency Unit (PEU) at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Manhyia Government District Hospital.
In an effort to improve the health and wellbeing of young children, she established an annual event to encourage women to breastfeed their children, of which this kind gesture was a part.
