Prestea United FC have completed the acquisition of the Division One League slot of newly-promoted Ebiemo FC ahead of the 2026/27 Access Bank Division One League season.

The takeover will see the Prestea-based club compete in Zone Two of Ghana’s second-tier league after reaching an agreement with Nzema-based side Ebiemo FC for the transfer of the club’s league status.

Ebiemo FC secured promotion to the Division One League following a successful campaign in the regional competition, earning the right to feature in the second tier for the first time. However, the club has opted to transfer its league slot to Prestea United before the start of the new season.

The acquisition represents a major boost for Prestea United, who now return to the Division One League through the purchase of Ebiemo FC’s league rights.

The agreement is expected to be subject to the approval and ratification of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in line with the regulations governing club ownership and league participation.

Prestea United are now expected to begin preparations for the upcoming campaign as they look to establish themselves as strong contenders in Zone Two.
