President Mahama Orders Investigation into Alleged Drug Trafficking at Kotoka International Airport

In response to allegations raised by Reverend John Ntim Fordjour regarding suspicious flights potentially involved in drug trafficking and money laundering at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), President John Dramani Mahama has directed a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page today, President Mahama emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining zero tolerance for drug-related activities within Ghana.

He revealed that the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) recently conducted a high-profile drug bust valued at $350 million.

To ensure a thorough and transparent investigation, the President has instructed relevant agencies—including the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the NIB, and the National Security Coordinator—to collaborate fully with Reverend Ntim Fordjour.

This cooperation aims to gather all necessary information to investigate the allegations and take appropriate action against any illicit activities.

President Mahama reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to preventing Ghana from being used as a transit or final destination for drug trafficking.

He assured the public that the government remains vigilant and committed to upholding the nation’s security and integrity.
