Nine (9) Black Stars players have been confirmed injured ahead of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic next month.

Baba Iddrisu (Almería, on loan from Mallorca) has undergone a surgery on Sports hernia while Inaki Williams (Atletico Bilbao) has also undergone a foot surgery to remove a foreign body.

Majeed Ashimeru (Anderlecht) is recuperating from a left calf tear, Joseph Paintsil (LA Galaxy) has picked up a hamstring injury while Nathaniel Adjei ( Lorient, on loan Hammarby IF) has also been ruled out with an ankle injury.

Dennis Odoi (Club Brugge) also misses the double-header through a knee injury while Daniel Amartey (Beşiktaş) has also picked up an ankle injury.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo also confirmed on Wednesday May 29, 2024 that Daniel Kofi Kyere (SC Freiburg) and Joseph Aidoo (Celta Vigo) have long-term injuries.

Addo announced a 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali and Central African Republic scheduled for Bamako and Kumasi on June 6 and 10 respectively.

Otto Addo’s 26-man squad will report for duty on Thursday morning as they begin to prepare for the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Mexico and Canada.

The Black Stars will train at the University of Ghana Stadium for six days before departing for Bamako on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
