A monitoring tour to a few private universities and senior high schools in the Greater Accra, Eastern, Volta, Western, and Central Regions is scheduled to begin today by the Parliamentary Education Committee.
Beginning on Monday, April 28, and ending on Friday, May 2, 2025, is the first phase of the monitoring exercise.
Chemu Senior High School, Accra Girls’ Senior High School, Achimota Senior High School, Wisconsin International University College, and Regent University College are just a few of the schools the Committee will be visiting during this time.
Joseph Kwame Kumah, the vice chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, told Citi News that the exercise is a component of the endeavor to evaluate the general conditions, academic performance, and facilities in the chosen institutions.
“We need this period to monitor the government’s projects at the institutional levels. So, we will be visiting secondary and technical schools; both public and private, and also some universities. It is just to find out how the system is running and the challenges the students are having.
“We are talking about the double-track system and its effect on the quality of education. So, while we are out, we will interact with both students and teachers to appreciate how our institutions are running,” he said.
