Over 25,000 people attended the concluding day of a three-day programme held at the Believers Worship Centre in Pokuase Katapor Estate, Accra, yesterday.
Although the church enjoyed great success from the event, commuters and locals encountered extreme traffic congestion, which caused chaos on the roads.
Since Thursday, the situation has been becoming worse as a result of increasing traffic congestion. There wasn’t enough transport in the vicinity due to the rush of worshippers, which frustrated many who were attempting to get around.
Some dishonest drivers overcharged passengers in a desperate attempt to profit from the situation. Many people expressed their dissatisfaction on social media as a result of the lengthy delays created by the obstruction.
Notwithstanding the difficulties, the ceremony within the church proceeded well, and participants gave high marks to the programme. On the other hand, future event planners have been advised to think about how their actions would affect the neighbourhood and look into measures to lessen disturbances.
