O’Reilly SHS headmistress ‘flee’ as family of late student goes berserk at meeting

On Wednesday, after the untimely death of a final-year student, Nadia Lartechoe Annan, the headmistress of O’Reilly Senior High School (SHS), reportedly ran for her life during a meeting.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) and the family of the late student Edward Sackey met, and at that discussion, confusion broke out.

Having been stabbed by a Visual Arts Department classmate, Edward, an 18-year-old student studying general arts, passed away on Monday, September 2.

Nii Okpoi Gonno Twerebour IV, the Chief of Okpoi Gonno, was present for the meeting, and it was anticipated to be a calm one.

Prince Owusu Asiedu of Adom News, who was present, however, stated that there was a flaming of tempers as bereaved family members accused the school administration of not being attentive to the unfortunate situation.

The headmistress fled before things worsened, fearing danger from the enraged family members who began yelling.

Angry family members demanded to know why they were not given a full briefing after accusing the school administration of incompetence before.

“When the incident happened, the suspect was rescued and taken to an office so do they want to tell us they have not interrogated him or he hasn’t willingly spoken,?” an angry sister of the deceased said.

Another added that, “This is not the first time. Human beings make up the school not fowls. So they must thoroughly probe the matter.”
