A 16-year-old Form Two student from Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) was taken into custody by the Tafo Pankrono Divisional Police Command for illegally carrying a handgun made in the area.
After the pistol was found during a normal search of the school’s dormitories on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at around 9:30 a.m., the arrest was made.
The student was immediately placed under arrest and handed over to the police for additional examination. The defendant, who was apprehended on Thursday, May 15, 2025, claimed during police questioning that the weapon belonged to his stepfather, Mr. Daniel Owusu Baafi.
Police inquiry bail has been granted to both persons, and they are anticipated to appear before authorities on Monday, May 19, 2025, for further inquiries.
