Odikro Anzakojo (Chairman Agape) of Aiyinasi Nyamenle Kwagyina has made a passionate appeal to all stakeholders, especially cooperate institutions operating within the Ellembelle enclave to urgently come to the aid of Basake Holy Stars by helping renovate the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park. Speaking at a recent supporters’ meeting, he emphasized the dire condition of the field, describing it as unfit for top-flight football and a major threat to both the club’s performance and player safety ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
According to Chairman Agape, the current state of the park poses a serious challenge to the club’s ambitions. He pointed out that if immediate action is not taken, it could hinder the team’s chances of maintaining top-tier standards. The pitch, which has become uneven and lacks basic infrastructure, needs a complete overhaul from leveling and resurfacing to proper drainage and facilities that meet Club Licensing Boards league requirements. He stressed that this is not just a club issue, but a community issue, and called on local companies such as Adamus Resources, BCM, Ghana Gas, GNPC, ENI, Quantum Terminals, and others to step forward as part of their social responsibility.
He also reminded supporters that while corporate help is critical, the community must not be passive. He encouraged fans to keep the conversation alive, raise awareness, and support initiatives that will attract attention to the field’s condition. He mentioned that Ghana Gas is expected to visit the park for inspection this Thursday, a step he hopes signals the beginning of meaningful intervention.
He ended his address by urging every supporter to use their voice, networks, and influence to rally support for the cause. “The Crosby Awuah Memorial Park is more than a pitch,” he said. “It’s our home, our pride, and it deserves to reflect the quality and ambition of Basake Holy Stars.”
