Ngalekyi/Baku Junior High School (JHS) has been crowned champions of the 3rd Edition of the Ellembelle District Science and Mathematics Quiz (DSMQ) 2026 after an impressive display of academic brilliance and intellectual excellence.

The school outperformed strong contenders including Kamgbunli Islamic JHS, Nyaneba Model JHS and Kikam SDA JHS in a keenly contested competition that tested students’ knowledge, speed and accuracy in Science and Mathematics.

The prestigious academic event was organised by the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Department of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and held at the Yinson Hall of Nkroful Agriculture Senior High School (NASS), attracting attention from education stakeholders, teachers and students across the Ellembelle District.

Ngalekyi/Baku JHS’s outstanding performance earned them the coveted first prize package sponsored by the Ghana Gas Company. The package included a GH¢2,000 cash prize, a customised plaque, a printer, six medals, three student mattresses, three chop boxes, textbooks and customised exercise books.

The victory serves as a testament to the commitment and hard work of the students, teachers and management of Ngalekyi/Baku JHS in promoting academic excellence and encouraging greater participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education.

The Ellembelle DSMQ continues to provide a competitive platform for nurturing young talents, improving students’ interest in Science and Mathematics, and preparing them for future contributions to national development.
