The countdown has officially begun for the highly anticipated Nzema Zone Inter-School Sports Festival, following the confirmation of the date and venue by the Ghana Education Service in partnership with the Nzema Zone Schools and Colleges Sports Federation.
Widely regarded as a flagship event on the academic and sporting calendar, the annual festival continues to serve as a powerful unifying platform for second-cycle institutions across the zone. This year’s edition is expected to assemble some of the brightest young athletic talents for a thrilling week of disciplined competition and school pride.
The 2026 Inter-School Sports Festival is slated to commence on Friday, February 27, 2026, and will climax on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Axim Sports Complex, which is poised to host days of electrifying sporting action.
Guided by the theme, “Promoting Unity and Sportsmanship Through Competition,” organisers aim to deepen camaraderie among participating schools while instilling the enduring values of teamwork, fair play, and excellence.
A strong field of contenders will feature in this year’s festival, including Half Assini Senior High School (HASCO), Annor Adjaye Senior High School (ANASS), Bonzo Kaku Senior High School (BOKASS), Uthman Bin Affan Senior High School (UBAISH), Esiama Secondary Technical School (SECTECH), Nkroful Agriculture Senior High School (NASS), Gwiraman Secondary School (GWIRASEC), Kwame Nkrumah Senior High School (KNSHS), and Axim Girls Senior High School (AXGISS). Each institution is expected to parade its finest athletes across multiple sporting disciplines.
The festival enjoys the backing of key sponsors, Ghana Gas, Dr. Sammy Scientific Herbal Clinic, and Madam Eva Mends, whose support highlights the growing investment in grassroots sports development within the Nzema enclave.
