The Amasaman High Court has revised the custodial sentence of embattled Ghanaian preacher, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly called Nana Agradaa, reducing her 15-year prison term to 12 months.
In delivering its judgment, the High Court described the sentence earlier imposed by an Accra Circuit Court as unduly severe and excessive, ruling that it did not adequately reflect the nature of the offences for which Agradaa was convicted.
The court ordered that the amended sentence should take effect from July 3, 2025, the day of her conviction. With this recalculation, Nana Agradaa is expected to serve approximately five more months behind bars.
The controversial evangelist is currently serving her term at the Nsawam Female Prison after being found guilty of charlatanic advertising and defrauding by false pretences. Her lawyers had mounted a strong appeal against both the conviction and the length of the sentence, insisting that the punishment was disproportionate.
The ruling concludes months of legal proceedings following the filing of an appeal by Agradaa’s legal team. The case was first heard by the High Court on December 4, 2025, before arriving at this decisive outcome.
