Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the well-known Ghanaian pastor, industrialist, and inventor, has passed away at the age of 77. His death occurred peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, as confirmed by his family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
He was widely recognized for his groundbreaking innovations in technology and his commitment to developing local industries. Through Kantanka Automobile, he championed the production of made-in-Ghana vehicles suited to the country’s needs. He also founded the Kristo Asafo Church, where he combined his religious mission with projects aimed at improving the lives of many Ghanaians.
Apostle Safo was equally admired for his generosity, agricultural initiatives, and consistent support for young inventors and entrepreneurs. Tributes have poured in since his passing, with his daughter, Sarah Adwoa Safo, describing him as a visionary leader, a symbol of hope, and a father figure to countless people.
The Safo family has asked for privacy as they mourn, adding that details of his funeral and burial arrangements will be announced later. His death marks the loss of a true pioneer whose impact will continue to inspire generations.

THE PASSING OF APOSTLE KWADWO SAFO
With profound sorrow and deepest grief, the Safo Family and the Kristo Asafo Church announces the peaceful passing of Ghana’s beloved man of God, the greatest technological icon, philanthropist, agriculturalist and industrialist popularly referred to as “Kantanka, the African Star”.
Our dearest Father passed away peacefully on Thursday 11th September, 2025.
Romans 14:8 states; “For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord”.
