The National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto has received praise from IMANI Africa President Franklin Cudjoe, who described it as “clear, relatable, humane, and universal.”

The party’s vision for Ghana was stated in the manifesto, which was unveiled on Saturday, August 24. Among the promises made were to eliminate some taxes, look into the killings that occurred during the 2020 election, and prohibit political appointees from owning state property.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Cudjoe praised the NDC for its dedication to gender representation and promised to nominate 30% of qualified women to public office.

In addition, he supported the party’s proposal to combat period poverty, which he said would help young females become more self-assured and educated.

He also praised the NDC for its “very sensible” pledge to hold an economic summit and create a plan for fiscal consolidation.

He did, however, add that in order to determine the true value of the suggested 24-hour economy, his team will carry out more investigation.

Mr. Cudjoe stressed the importance of effective governance and argued for a change from focussing resources and power for one’s own benefit to putting the needs of the people first.
