Monark Dankwah, the communications officer for the France branch of the Movement for Change, thinks it was a grave error for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to nominate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as their running partner for the 2024 presidential contest.
He branded the medical practitioner as disrespectful and arrogant, and his nomination for the NPP ticket will have no impact.
“Who did you say had been chosen as the running mate?” NAPO? In my quiet time, I have always prayed that they select him since he will offer no value to the NPP’s ticket. I’ve had a close encounter with him. He is not just arrogant, but also disrespectful. If such a person is chosen as a running mate, and in the unlikely event that he becomes the Vice President, you can imagine the dreadful things he will do.
It is not surprising that a self-acclaimed mate has settled on a co-mate who speaks so recklessly. Is it not the same NPP people who told us that it was arrogant for someone to speak to Ghanaians about the no chalk saga, and yet, they have selected someone who speaks so recklessly and with disrespect to Ghanaians? What was his response to the questions he was asked about the dumsor timetable? He told journalists to tell those who were demanding a timetable to design their own timetable. As for the NPP, they will come after you when they think you are arrogant and disrespectful, yet they see nothing wrong with what their reckless people say.”
He also questioned the party’s decision to delay appointing the former minister of education as running mate when it was obvious that he was their best choice.
“How come you stayed for so long when the running mate is a dentist who extracts teeth? I’ve had direct experience with him. He was really impolite to me when he visited my office in 2014 while I was employed by Airtel. I have never been fond of him since then. This is an intimate meeting.
This is based on my personal experience with him; others may have different opinions. Under severe or intense pressure, he is not able to control himself. In the unlikely event that he is elected vice president and, as chair of the economic management team, replicates Dr. Bawumia’s economic mismanagement, you can imagine the outcry from Ghanaians.
Monark Dankwah added that he thought the NPP was going to select someone who is more effective to partner with Dr. Bawumia; however, they have selected an someone with an incompetent personality.
“He is incompetent and ineffective, and that is something that will go to our advantage,” he told Dr. Ren on Rainbow Radio 92.4 FM, UK, via Zoom.
