Mukarama Abdulai Completes Move to Turkish Side Safi Mcl Bentonit Ünye

Ghana women’s national team forward Mukarama Abdulai has completed a move to Turkish club Safi Mcl Bentonit Ünye Kadın Futbol Kulübü ahead of the new season.

The 23-year-old attacker joins the Turkish outfit from Hasaacas Ladies FC, as she looks to relaunch her career following a challenging period with injury.

Abdulai shot to prominence at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, where she finished as the tournament’s top scorer to win the coveted Golden Boot.

Her remarkable display at the global youth tournament heightened expectations around her career and established her as one of Ghana’s brightest emerging talents.

She began her club career with Northern Ladies FC before earning a move to Spanish side Deportivo Alavés Femenino.

However, her progress was disrupted by a lengthy injury layoff, which eventually saw her return to Ghana to continue her recovery.

Upon her return, Abdulai joined Hasaacas Ladies, where she gradually regained her fitness and returned to competitive football.

The former FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Golden Boot winner will now continue her career in Turkey, with Safi Mcl Bentonit Ünye offering her a fresh platform to showcase her qualities.

Blessed with pace, technical ability, intelligent movement and a keen eye for goal, Abdulai is expected to bring an added attacking dimension to her new club.

Her move to Turkey marks a new phase in her career as she seeks to put her injury struggles behind her and rediscover the form that once made her one of the most exciting prospects in African women’s football.

Abdulai will also be keen to use the opportunity to strengthen her credentials for a return to the Ghana senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, on a consistent basis.
