Mohammed Kudus is already focused on the team’s success after joining Tottenham Hotspur in a high-profile move.
In a £55 million transfer, the Ghanaian forward left West Ham United to sign a six-year contract with the North London team.
The 24-year-old is keen to contribute the same kind of play to Spurs as they get ready for a challenging Premier League and Champions League season after playing a significant part in West Ham’s run to the Europa League quarterfinals two seasons ago.
“I’m very team-oriented, so my personal goals are around helping the team get as many points as we can, to be as high as we can in the Premier League, and perform really well and go as far as we can in the Champions League,” Kudus told the club’s website after completing his move.
Having already played in the Champions League while with Dutch powerhouse Ajax, he also voiced his delight at the chance to compete on Europe’s grandest stage once more.
“I know how big this club is and its history. Playing in the Champions League has always been a dream of mine, so this is a special moment,” Kudus said.
“The Champions League is one of the highest levels in football. I’ve had a taste of it with Ajax, and I understand the demands—it takes top quality and full concentration throughout every match. I’m looking forward to bringing my individual strengths to help the team succeed.”
Kudus played with Ajax for three seasons, from 2020 to 2022, and made nine Champions League matches. In 2022, he scored four goals in six group-stage games, making it his most memorable season.
The dynamic attacker is excited to help Spurs advance on their European trip as they prepare to return to the Champions League in the 2025–2026 season.
In the match against European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup, Kudus will make his competitive debut wearing a Tottenham shirt.
