Medeama SC’s Midfielder Prince Owusu Earns First Black Stars Call-Up

Enterprising midfielder of Medeama Sporting Club, Prince Owusu has received his first call-up to the senior Ghana national team, the Black Stars, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header against Central African Republic (CAR) and Comoros.

Owusu has been one of Medeama’s standout performers in the ongoing Ghana Premier League this season, showing consistency, energy, and composure in midfield. His performances have earned him recognition as one of the promising young talents in Ghanaian football.

The midfielder began his career at Koforidua Suhyen and eventually joined Medeama SC, where he developed into a reliable first-team player. He also spent time on loan at Okwawu United earlier in his professional journey.

Speaking after his call-up, Prince Owusu expressed his gratitude and commitment: “I thank Ghanaians for this call-up and I promise to deliver. I will not disappoint,” he said.

Owusu will now join the Black Stars squad as they prepare for their upcoming qualifiers against the Central African Republic on October 8, 2025, in Morocco and against Comoros on October 12 in Accra. His inclusion is seen as a move to add youth and depth to Ghana’s midfield options.
