Medeama Sporting Club has mutually parted ways with head coach Nebojsa Kapor, following the expiration of his one-year contract. The 38-year-old Serbian tactician, who joined the Mauve and Yellows in December 2023, helped steer the club to notable improvements in the Ghana Premier League during his tenure. However, despite a promising year, both parties were unable to reach an agreement on a contract renewal, leading to their decision to part ways.

Kapor’s short-lived stint with Medeama SC marked a period of significant growth for the team. His tactical acumen and disciplined approach helped elevate the performance of the squad, earning respect in the competitive Ghanaian top-flight league. Under his leadership, the club not only demonstrated strong defensive organization but also showed much more dynamism in attack, helping them become one of the more competitive teams in the league.

While his impact on the squad was clear, the decision to not extend the contract reflects a difference in vision for the future. Medeama SC thanked Coach Kapor for his dedication and professionalism during his time at the helm. The club expressed its gratitude for his contributions, highlighting his ability to bring stability and competitive edge to a team that had struggled in recent seasons.

“The club extends its deepest gratitude to Coach Nebojsa Kapor for his contributions to Medeama SC. His time here was marked by progress, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence,” the club said in a statement. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and hope he continues to achieve success wherever he goes.”

With Kapor’s departure, Medeama SC has turned to its experienced Technical Director, Augustine Evans Adotey, who will take charge of the team on an interim basis. Adotey, a familiar face within the club, will lead the team as they search for a permanent coach to continue the work started under Kapor. The club has assured supporters that they are focused on finding a “substantive” coach who can build on the progress made and help take the team to new heights.

As for Kapor, the future remains bright. Known for his tactical sophistication and ability to motivate players, the Serbian coach will no doubt attract interest from other clubs, both in Africa and beyond. His experience in coaching various teams across Europe and Africa, combined with his approach to building strong defensive units and quick counter-attacks, has left an impression on Medeama’s players and supporters alike.

In the coming weeks, all eyes will be on Medeama SC as they work to finalize a new coaching appointment and continue their pursuit of excellence in the Ghana Premier League. With a strong squad already in place, the focus now shifts to maintaining their competitive edge under new leadership.
