Mahama Touches Down in Zambia for High-Level Three-Day State Visit

President John Dramani Mahama is poised to begin a three-day state visit to Zambia, following a formal invitation from his Zambian counterpart, President Hakainde Hichilema.

The Ghanaian leader will arrive from Dubai, where he participated in the World Governments Summit, travelling aboard an aircraft made available by the President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, demonstrating the high diplomatic regard surrounding the visit.

A grand ceremonial reception awaits President Mahama at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, with President Hichilema, senior government officials from both nations, members of the diplomatic corps, and cultural troupes expected to grace the occasion.

Among the major highlights of the visit is President Mahama’s scheduled address to the Zambian National Assembly. The address is expected to outline Ghana’s vision for enhanced regional integration, strengthened African solidarity, and shared economic prosperity.

Ghana’s High Commissioner to Zambia, Elizabeth Nyantakyi, described the visit as a significant milestone in Ghana-Zambia relations. She disclosed that several Memoranda of Understanding are expected to be signed during the visit, including a proposed visa waiver agreement aimed at deepening cooperation and promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
