Kwame Dzokoto Reportedly Dies After Collapsing During Radio Discussion in Tarkwa

Ghanaian actor, comedian and television personality Seth Kwame Dzokoto has reportedly died after collapsing during a panel discussion at Owass Radio in Tarkwa, triggering concern among admirers of the veteran entertainer.

According to reports, Dzokoto was urgently conveyed to a hospital in Tarkwa following the incident but was pronounced dead on arrival. The circumstances surrounding his sudden collapse, including the precise cause of his reported death, remain unclear.

A source said to be affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the political party with which Dzokoto has been associated, reportedly confirmed the development. However, an official statement from his family, representatives or the relevant authorities was not immediately available at the time of publication.

Dzokoto was a recognisable figure in Ghana’s entertainment industry, having cultivated a multifaceted career spanning acting, comedy and television presentation. He attained widespread acclaim through his portrayal in the long-running television series Efiewura, which endeared him to audiences and cemented his reputation as a prominent personality in Ghanaian entertainment.

His popularity was further amplified through TV3’s Edziban, a culinary programme that explored Ghana’s gastronomic traditions, indigenous delicacies, local eateries and the country’s diverse food culture. Through the programme, Dzokoto brought Ghanaian cuisine closer to viewers while celebrating the richness and diversity of the nation’s culinary heritage.

Beyond his accomplishments in entertainment and broadcasting, Dzokoto ventured into partisan politics under the NDC. He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election but was unsuccessful against the New Patriotic Party’s George Mireku Duker.

His professional trajectory subsequently encompassed various assignments in radio and television broadcasting, as well as management, underscoring his enduring involvement in Ghana’s media and entertainment landscape.

In September 2026, Dzokoto reportedly addressed public speculation about his health, revealing that he was recuperating after undergoing surgery abroad with support from businessman Ibrahim Mahama. He had also previously refuted rumours circulating about his death.

The latest reports of his alleged demise have generated apprehension among admirers and followers of his work, particularly given his longstanding contributions to Ghanaian entertainment and broadcasting.

Nevertheless, details surrounding the incident at Owass Radio, the circumstances of his reported death and any official confirmation from his family or representatives remained unavailable at the time of publication.
