Krisan have been crowned champions of the maiden edition of the Ride On Inter-Community League after an impressive campaign, bringing the curtains down on a captivating tournament that celebrated grassroots football, communal solidarity and healthy competition.
The inaugural competition, staged at the Sanzule/Krisan Astro Turf, brought together five communities, Krisan, Sanzule, Ewe Town, New Bakanta and Old Bakanta, in a spirited contest characterised by determination, sporting excellence and an unwavering sense of community pride.
Held under the inspiring motto “We Are Riding for Health and Fun,” the tournament transcended the conventional boundaries of football, providing a vibrant platform for fostering social cohesion, promoting physical well-being and strengthening the bonds of friendship among the participating communities.
Throughout the competition, the Sanzule/Krisan Astro Turf served as the epicentre of sporting excitement, with the participating sides exhibiting commendable resilience, discipline and competitive spirit in their pursuit of supremacy.
The tournament witnessed an enthralling display of grassroots football, as players from the five communities showcased their abilities while supporters thronged the venue to rally behind their respective teams, creating an electrifying atmosphere of enthusiasm, camaraderie and communal solidarity.
Krisan ultimately emerged triumphant, finishing at the summit of the standings to secure a historic title and become the first-ever champions of the Ride On Inter-Community League.
Sanzule settled for the runners-up position, while Ewe Town secured third place after their respective campaigns. New Bakanta finished fourth, with Old Bakanta completing the final standings in fifth position.
The triumph represents a moment of immense pride for Krisan, whose achievement has secured their place in the competition’s history as the first community to lay claim to the coveted title.
Beyond the competitive spectacle, the maiden edition provided an invaluable avenue for residents of neighbouring communities to interact, cultivate meaningful relationships and reinforce their collective identity through the universal language of football.
The successful organisation of the tournament was spearheaded by Chairman Sylvester Ewhiah, popularly known as Papa Sly, whose leadership, dedication and commitment provided the requisite direction for the competition.
Organiser Edward Ackah, widely recognised as Saint Bekoe, also played an instrumental role in coordinating the tournament and facilitating its successful execution.
Their collaborative efforts, complemented by the invaluable contributions of participating communities, players, match officials and enthusiastic supporters, proved instrumental in delivering a memorable inaugural campaign.
The successful conclusion of the maiden edition has established a promising foundation for the tournament’s continued growth, demonstrating the transformative potential of grassroots football in promoting healthy lifestyles, nurturing community relationships and advancing social integration.
Although Krisan will savour the distinction of becoming the competition’s inaugural champions, the collective participation of all five communities remains an equally commendable achievement, reflecting the tournament’s underlying philosophy of friendship, togetherness and healthy competition.
With the maiden campaign now consigned to the history books, attention will turn towards future editions, as the organisers seek to build on the competition’s success and further strengthen its standing as a platform for sporting excellence and community development.
The enduring message of the initiative remains firmly rooted in its founding philosophy: Ride On — We Are Riding for Health and Fun.
