Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has made a daring comment in the midst of the controversy over a cash offer she accepted from Ghana Gold Board Acting CEO Sammy Gyamfi.
“I will return the $800 and film it as evidence if that’s what it’ll take for Sammy Gyamfi not to lose his job and for the NDC members to leave me alone,” Agradaa said categorically, expressing her intention to protect Gyamfi from professional consequences and to avoid pressure from NDC members.
The uproar started when a video of Gyamfi giving Agradaa what looked to be US cash went viral. The behavior was swiftly condemned, especially by the Minority in Parliament, who requested Gyamfi’s immediate suspension and dubbed the gesture “inappropriate.”
In a live Instagram video response to the worsening circumstances, Nana Agradaa voiced her grave anxiety that Gyamfi’s career might be in danger.
She announced a plan not only to return the funds but to potentially increase the amount. “I will return the $800 and even double it,” she declared.
“I will do my best to find his office, and I will go there with my camera and show it to Ghanaians that I have returned the money.”
The well-known evangelist, who was once a fetish priestess, stressed that she was driven to act by her conscience.
“This is my mantle, my Bible, and my anointing oil, as a great woman of God, and I say that I will set my church on fire if I am the reason Sammy will lose his job,” Agradaa passionately stated.
She defended Gyamfi’s actions, adding, “Because the Bible said we should do good to everybody, the Bible did not discriminate when it said that. So, if Sammy Gyamfi gives me money, he deserves to do that.”
