Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the deputy minister-designate for transport, has vowed to do everything in her power to support the substantive minister in creating a safe, effective, and functional transportation system in Ghana.
She emphasized her willingness to take an active and results-driven role in the Ministry of Transport during her appearance before Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
The Jomoro MP claims that rather than being a passive figure, she will be actively involved in the Ministry’s daily operations and strategic direction in order to support the implementation of policies that improve the sector’s overall performance.
The issue of gender equality in the transportation sector was also emphasized by Dorcas Affo-Toffey, who described the existing underrepresentation of women as a gap that requires immediate attention.
She declared that she will endeavor to mainstream women into a variety of sector responsibilities, such as leadership, operational, and technical roles in all agencies under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.
