“I Never Sabotaged Coach Ellis” — Ebusua Dwarfs Assistant Coach Stanley Afadzie Responds to Explosive Allegations

Ebusua Dwarfs assistant coach Stanley Afadzie has vehemently refuted claims made by former head coach Bright Lord Ellis, who recently alleged that his assistant sabotaged him during his time in charge of the Cape Coast-based club.

In an interview with Connect 97.1FM, Coach Afadzie dismissed the allegations as baseless and illogical, insisting that Coach Ellis’ own shortcomings and leadership approach were the real reasons behind the team’s challenges.

“Coach Ellis wasn’t even coming to training sessions with any structured program,” Afadzie stated. “He liked to dictate instead of collaborating, and that’s one of the reasons he struggled at Ebusua Dwarfs. He brought division among the players.”

The current Dwarfs assistant coach also pointed to certain managerial practices under Ellis that, in his view, disrupted team unity and affected performance.

“Sometimes, when we had a match on Sunday, he would select his team as early as Monday — which made the rest of the week’s training meaningless,” he revealed.

Afadzie further questioned the logic behind the sabotage accusation, emphasizing his professionalism and awareness of his role within the technical setup.

“I hold a License C certificate, so why would I sabotage a head coach of a Division One League club, knowing I don’t even qualify to coach the team if he’s dismissed?” he quizzed.

Coach Ellis’ earlier comments alleging internal sabotage sparked debate within Ghana’s football fraternity, drawing mixed reactions from supporters and pundits alike.

Meanwhile, Ebusua Dwarfs are showing signs of revival on the pitch. The Crabs secured a vital 1-2 away win against King Faisal, a result that has lifted spirits and strengthened their push for promotion to the Ghana Premier League. Coach Afadzie remains focused on guiding the team forward, determined to restore unity and consistency as the season progresses.
