Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the minister of finance, has refuted claims that he approved a $1.7 million single-source procurement deal.
Dr. Forson urged the public to ignore the assertions, calling them “baseless and misleading,” in a Facebook post on Saturday, March 22.
He added that he has not authorized any purchases since taking office, reaffirming his dedication to openness, responsibility, and prudent financial management.
“My attention has been drawn to yet another baseless and misleading claim circulating about an alleged $1.7 million single-source procurement contract approved by me.
“This claim is completely false and should be disregarded. Let me state clearly and categorically: I have not approved any procurements since I took office as Minister. My focus remains on ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible economic management in the best interest of Ghana,” he wrote.
