“I Am Divorced And I Will Not Marry Again”-Nana Ama McBrown Opens Up

Renowned Ghanaian actress and celebrated television host Nana Ama McBrown has candidly revealed that she has amicably ended her twelve-year marriage to Maxwell Mensah, describing the chapter not as a failure, but as a beautifully concluded journey.

The award-winning showbiz icon made the heartfelt disclosure on TV3’s New Day, explaining that the decision to part ways was reached through mutual understanding, honest conversation, and without acrimony.

“I am genuinely happy and fulfilled. Yes, I am divorced, and I say it without shame,” McBrown stated. “We handled it with grace. My ex-husband and I are cool, we talk yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I visit my in-laws, and there is peace. We are the best of friends.”

According to McBrown, both partners acknowledged emotional exhaustion and chose dialogue over bitterness, opting to move forward respectfully.

“We both got tired. We sat down, spoke openly, and agreed it was time to move on. There was no war, no bitterness, just understanding,” she explained.

Despite the separation, the versatile actress emphasized that her bond with her former husband and his family remains strong. She noted that while they wished for her to stay, she ultimately felt unable to continue in the marriage.

“He is a good man, a correct guy. I still respect him deeply, but I was tired of the marriage,” she added.

McBrown further disclosed that the union was sealed under customary law, making the dissolution a family-led process rather than a legal courtroom affair.

Above all, she expressed profound gratitude for the greatest blessing to emerge from the marriage, their daughter, Maxine, whom she described as a priceless gift.

“My biggest joy is my child. She is my treasure,” McBrown said.

In a firm declaration about her future, the media personality stated that marriage is no longer on her horizon.

“I will not marry again. I can give birth again, but I won’t marry again,” she affirmed. “Twelve years of marriage is no small feat. When you see celebrities who have stayed married for twelve years, applaud them.”

Before her public revelation, speculation had swirled about challenges within the marriage, with some reports alleging that infidelity may have contributed to its collapse.

Nana Ama McBrown and Maxwell Mensah were married for twelve years and share a daughter, Maxine, a bond that continues to unite them beyond marriage.
