Basake Holy Stars enjoyed derby delight on Sunday afternoon when the team posted a 1-0 win over rivals Nzema Kotoko in the second ‘Nzema derby’ of the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League.

In a game been surrounded with lot of controversies before kick off at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, The Red Armies were forced to do a lot of chasing as Basake Holy Stars dominated play and caused trouble for the defense of the visiting team.

Eventually, after coming close a number of times, the host finally scored in the 37th minute as winger, Abdul Manan Adams scored with a diving header from Francis Asantes corner kick.

With no answer to the goal in the remainder of the game by Nzema Kotoko, Basake Holy Stars bagged all three points at the end of the 90 minutes, putting a dent in their hopes of survival this season.

Basake Holy Stars are sitting second on the zone II table whiles Nzema Kotoko are languishing 14th on the log.
