Holy Stars Face GFA Disciplinary Action After Clash with Nations FC

Ghana Premier League side, Basake Holy Stars Football Club are set for disciplinary actions with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following their reported ruthlessness in their matchday 33 encounter with Nations FC at the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III Sports Arena in Ampain.

The club has been formally charged with breaching Article 16(2)(h) of the GFA regulations due to the conduct of their supporters during the match.

According to the GFA’s report, supporters of Basake Holy Stars were involved in an altercation with an official from Nations FC, which escalated tensions at the venue. Additionally, it is alleged that the home fans obstructed the Nations FC media officer from carrying out official duties, creating a hostile atmosphere for the visiting team and their representatives.

In a further twist, some Nations FC fans with valid tickets were reportedly prevented from entering the stadium by Holy Stars supporters, a move that the GFA considers a serious violation of the league’s code of conduct and fair play principles. Such actions not only mar the spirit of the game but also threaten the integrity of the competition.

Basake Holy Stars have been given until Friday, June 13, 2025, to respond to the charges. The club’s response and subsequent actions will likely determine the severity of any sanctions they may face, as the GFA seeks to uphold discipline and ensure a safe and respectful environment at league fixtures.
