The Nzema Zone edition of the 2026 Inter-Schools Festival burst into life at the Axim Sports Complex, as host Kwame Nkrumah Senior High School (KNSHS) and co-host Axim Girls Senior High School (AXGIS) staged a thrilling opening day across the Boys and Girls Divisions.
Amid a vibrant atmosphere filled with school pride and passionate support, participating institutions wasted no time asserting themselves, producing a compelling mix of dominant displays and tightly contested football battles that set an exciting tone for the tournament.
Half Assini Senior High School (HASCO) emerged as the standout side in the boys’ category, sweeping aside Gwiraman Secondary Technical School (GWIRASEC) with a resounding 3-0 triumph. Their fluid attacking transitions and defensive solidity proved decisive, underlining their early intent in the competition.
Nkroful Agriculture Senior High School (NASS) had to show grit and composure to overcome Annor Adjaye Senior High School (ANASS) 2-1 in a fiercely competitive football encounter. Though evenly matched for long spells, NASS capitalised on crucial moments to secure all three points.
Bonzoh Kaku Senior High School (BOKASS) also made a winning start, edging Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Senior High School (UBAISH) 2-1. In a match defined by intensity and determination, BOKASS proved more clinical in front of goal to seal a valuable victory.

The Girls Division delivered equally captivating football fixtures, with narrow scorelines reflecting the balanced competition on display.
HASCO’s girls side demonstrated discipline and tactical awareness to secure a slender 1-0 win over Annor Adjaye Senior High School (ANASS), with a solitary goal separating the two sides.
Host school KNSHS delighted their supporters at the Axim Sports Complex with a hard-earned 1-0 victory against Nkroful Agriculture Senior High School (NASS), drawing inspiration from the home crowd to clinch maximum points.
Co-host AXGIS further amplified the celebratory mood by narrowly defeating Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Senior High School (UBAISH) 1-0. Their organised approach and relentless work rate ensured a memorable opening performance on home soil.
