Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko played out a throbbing goalless draw on Sunday, 4 May 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium in a match marked by disciplined defending and missed chances.
Hearts, looking to recover from recent setbacks, adopted a cautious approach in the first half, limiting Kotoko’s attacking efforts. Kotoko started strongly, creating several opportunities from corners, but failed to convert. Hearts goalkeeper Benjamin Asare made several key saves to keep the scores level.

In the second half, Hearts created more attacking moments, but Kotoko’s defence remained well-organised. A disallowed goal for Kotoko forward Wisdom Fernando Bassey, following a foul call, drew protests but the referee’s decision stood.
Both sides pressed for a breakthrough in the closing stages but were unable to find the finishing touch. Hearts had more possession, while Kotoko registered more shots on target.
The result leaves Kotoko in fourth place, while Hearts’ chances of contesting the title have been further reduced. Both teams face important fixtures in the final weeks of the season.
