Govt extends Free SHS policy to 60 private schools – Regional Breakdown

An important milestone since the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy’s inception under the Akufo-Addo administration has been reached with the government’s expansion of the program to 60 private institutions nationwide.

It is anticipated that this move will promote fair access to high-quality education in both public and private schools while also relieving traffic in public SHSs.

The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) has commended the idea, calling it an important step in the direction of comprehensive educational reform.

It is recommended that parents and guardians use the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ministry of Education, or the GNACOPS platforms to confirm the authorized list of private SHSs.
