Otiko Djaba, the former minister for gender, children, and social protection, has given health minister Bernard Oko boye seven days to wrap up his investigations into claims that hospital staff at Trauma and specialised hospital in Winneba abandoned a patient in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region.

She said that since the woman died due to negligence and is a threat to national security, the investigation into this situation should not take thirty days.

During her interview with Kwadwo Sefah-Danquah on Happy 98.9’s morning broadcast, the former minister stated that had the woman been at the hospital, she would still be alive. She believes the hospital ought to be held liable for the way they treated the patient, which ultimately resulted in her demise.

“This is an atrocity, irresponsible act, there is no excuse and the system has failed the woman from ministry of health and Gender, Ghana medical association, trauma hospital, chiefs, ambulance driver to the entire Gomoa Ojobi township”.

“It is the responsibility of the hospital to ensure that her best interest is taken care of from the point of admitting her and releasing her to her destination should be safe and healthy, the hospital should stop telling us rubbish for even hiding the identity or the name of the woman”.

She therefore urge the Ministry of Health to publish the results publicly after the investigation for those involved to be punished.
