The Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive education by donating 10 desktop computers and Bluetooth speakers to Takoradi Technical University’s newly established reading room for students with disabilities.
The donation follows the successful handing over of the reading room earlier, a project initiated to enhance learning opportunities and provide a supportive academic environment for students with disabilities.

At a brief ceremony held at the university’s main campus, representatives from Ghana Gas presented the equipment to the university authorities.
The Vice Chancellor of TTU, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, while expressing gratitude to Ghana Gas, said the donation would go a long way to aid the teaching and learning of students with disabilities.

“On behalf of the students and staff, we want thank you for this donation. I believe it will go a long way to help us teach students with disabilities and make life comfortable for them on campus,” he stated.
Reechoing the university’s commitment to supporting students with disabilities, Rev. Prof. Eshun called for more support from Ghana Gas and urged other corporate organizations to emulate such gestures.
“we started the disability unit in 2017. As we speak, about 117 students have graduated from the university. These students face a lot of challenges, and the university alone cannot cater for all their needs. We pay for interpreters, provide free accommodation, and offer scholarships to make life comfortable for them on campus. We need more support to be able to teach effectively and help them build lives and careers after graduation. I urge other corporate bodies to emulate this kind gesture,” he said.
Ghana Gas Disability Liaison Officer, Isaac Ansah, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting students with disabilities.

“We are here from Ghana Gas to fulfill a promise made to the Disability Support Services Unit of TTU through the donation of computers to our dear hearing-impaired students to enhance their education. This initiative, driven by Ghana Gas, is a testament to the company’s involvement in inclusive education and the empowerment of students with disabilities. It is our collective hope that this donation will empower our hearing-impaired students to strive for excellence and become agents of change in their respective communities,” he said.
The Director of Academic Affairs, Olivia Agyemang, also expressed gratitude to Ghana Gas for their continued support to the university.

“On behalf of the university, we want to extend our gratitude to Ghana Gas. You have supported us with a reading room, and now our students with disabilities have started using it. Yesterday, I visited, and some of them were already there studying. We are very grateful for what you have presented to us this morning,” she expressed.
