The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas), Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, on Friday convened a high-level stakeholder engagement with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) from the Western Region to discuss collaborative strategies aimed at enhancing community development in areas impacted by the company’s operations.

The meeting, held in Takoradi, the capital of the Western Region, brought together Chief Executives and Coordinating Directors from Ellembelle, Prestea Huni-Valley, Nzema East, Shama, and Sekondi-Takoradi Metro Assembly. The forum provided a platform for constructive dialogue on fostering partnerships between Ghana Gas and local authorities.
Ms. Blay, who assumed leadership of Ghana Gas earlier this year, highlighted the company’s renewed commitment to its core mandate of ensuring energy security and promoting socio-economic growth. She stressed the importance of mutual understanding and cooperation between the company and host communities.

“Stakeholder engagement is at the heart of our vision. Our operations directly impact the livelihoods of many in this region, and we must work hand in hand with local authorities to address challenges and harness opportunities for sustainable development,” she said.
Participants explored key areas such as infrastructure development, community support initiatives, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment. They also discussed strategies to align local development priorities with the company’s corporate social responsibility programs.

Several MMDCEs commended Ghana Gas for its outreach and expressed readiness to strengthen collaboration for the benefit of their constituencies. They emphasized the need for continuous dialogue to ensure projects are community-driven and inclusive.
The meeting marks one of the first major stakeholder engagements under Ms. Blay’s leadership and signals a proactive approach to bridging the gap between corporate objectives and community needs. It underscores Ghana Gas’s commitment to being a catalyst for growth in the Western Region and beyond.
