Fuel prices to go up from July 1; petrol by 2%, diesel 5% – COMAC

-

According to projections made by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), starting tomorrow, retail stations will probably see an increase in fuel prices beginning with the first pricing window on July 1, 2025.

Diesel prices could rise by 5%, while gasoline prices might rise by 2%, according to COMAC. Price increases of 1% will be implemented for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The price of gasoline will rise at the pump for the first time since February 2025.

At a press conference in Accra, Dr. Riverson Oppong, the chamber’s chief executive, revealed this.

“Even before the implementation of the amended Energy Sector Levy which has been suspended, our projections indicate that pump prices may be going up”, he said.

“I can say petrol is likely to go up by 2 percent, LPG may witness a little above 1 percent and Diesel will likely increase by 5 percent. This is after taking all factors into consideration, including NPA price build ups,” he said.

For cost-effective operation, the Chamber is calling for a reassessment of the downstream petroleum industry’s regulations.
