Freddie Blay, the former chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and his son Kwame Blay have filed two cases against Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for defamatory writings that falsely implicate them in claimed state property theft.

While Freddie Blay’s complaint lists Media General and Johnnie Hughes as defendants, Kwame Blay’s action is only directed against the North Tongu MP.

In the first lawsuit, Kwame Blay makes it clear that he is not the same as his brother Kwaw and that he is not connected to the Polo Beach Club in any way.

Unquestionably, he says he has never done business with Loic Devos Jr., who is presently embroiled in a lawsuit with Press Xpress, one of his brother’s companies.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has accused Kwame of stealing state land and conspiring to defraud Loic, but Kwame maintains that these accusations are untrue and have seriously harmed his reputation and business.

Kwame wonders why a legislator would decide something that is private in public, harming one of the parties in the process.

Given the impending elections, Freddie Blay claims that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s actions were driven by hate and intended to destroy his hard-earned reputation.

He claims that all of the material that has been made public on his boys and family is untrue.

Freddie also asserts that lies were disseminated by Media General and Johnnie Hughes with the intention of damaging his reputation.

He emphasizes how Ablakwa’s reputation was further harmed when Johnnie Hughes, on his program “Johnnie’s Bite,” amplified his claims and criticized him while posing as an authority on the subject.
