Former Chelsea Midfielder, Michael Essien’s Mansions To be Auctioned Following Court Order

According to a Daily Guide article, Michael Essien’s two East Legon and Trassaco residences will be up for auction.

The selling order was issued by the Deputy Sheriff of the Commercial Division of the High Court on June 12, 2024.

The properties in dispute are situated in Accra at Trassaco (Phase 2), Adjiringano (House Number 204/205), and Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon (House Number 9).

An unidentified auctioneer revealed that one of the properties is estimated to be for between $20 million and $30 million.

Essien’s career started at Bastia in France and then moved to Olympique Lyonnais in later years. He became one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League after Chelsea noticed his exceptional achievements there.

Premier League championships and a UEFA Champions League trophy were among the many honours Essien won while playing for Chelsea.

The former Ghana international gained recognition for his midfield skills throughout the world while playing for other elite teams like Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Even though he made a lot of money when he was a player, Essien, an assistant coach at FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, has faced difficulties in his business and financial endeavours after he retired from professional football.
