The 2025 Mid-Year Budget review is scheduled to be presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The presentation complies with Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921) Section 28.
It will include an update on how the 2025 budget is being implemented, together with information on the fiscal and economic performance of the first half of the year.
The Deputy Majority Leader, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, disclosed this in Parliament while presenting the business statement for the eighth week ending Saturday, 19th July 2025.
“The mid-year again will happen on the 24th of July. I think the committee on the selection issue, Right Honourable Speaker, has been engaging with it. He is out of the jurisdiction, and so when he comes back, I am sure he will get it sorted out,” he stated.
The Business Committee has noted that several referrals are still waiting at committees, he continued. Currently, 16 committees have received 61 referrals, Mr. Ricketts-Hagan noted, and they are expected to review and report on them.
The Deputy Majority Leader further stated that on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, has been scheduled by the Business Committee to address the House regarding the recent demolition of properties at the Sakumono Ramar Site.
John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, has also been scheduled by the committee to address the House on Thursday, July 17, 2025, regarding the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s (PURC) recent 2.5% increase in energy rates.
