Renowned Talent Identification Expert with FIFA, Laban Scott Libby, has commended the association for its successful organization of the Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship, held at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Scott highlighted the GFA’s efforts in creating a competitive and professionally run tournament, which drew young talents from across all ten regions of Ghana.
Speaking at the conclusion of the championship, Scott lauded the GFA’s meticulous planning and dedication, which he believes contributed to the tournament’s success.
He emphasized the association’s commitment to excellence, noting that the GFA brought together a skilled medical team to ensure player safety, organized effective administrative support, structured communications team for the production and streaming of all games and fostered a high level of competition by assembling teams from every region in the country.
“The Ghana Football Association has demonstrated the power of effective organization and leadership in youth football. By bringing together talented players from across the nation, assembling a capable medical team, and ensuring sound administration, they’ve set a high standard for youth competitions,” Scott said.
The Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship, part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme, serves as a platform to identify and nurture young football talents in Ghana. Scott expressed confidence that the groundwork laid by Ghana will continue to support the growth of Ghanaian football and strengthen the national talent pool.
The championship concluded on October 27th, with Volta Region crowned as champions after an intense 3-2 victory over Ashanti Region in the final. Scott’s praise for the GFA underscores the association’s ongoing efforts to invest in youth development and reinforce Ghana’s reputation as a hub for emerging football talent.
