FC Samartex 1996 have officially announced the appointment of Nana Kweku Agyemang as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The Timber Giants confirmed the appointment on Monday, stating that Agyemang emerged as the preferred candidate following a thorough selection process, with his coaching philosophy and long-term vision aligning with the club’s ambitious “New Samartex” project.

His arrival marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Samreboi-based outfit as they seek to build a competitive side capable of challenging consistently for major honours in Ghanaian football.

Agyemang is widely regarded as one of the country’s promising young coaches. He holds a CAF A Licence, a UEFA B Licence, and is also a FIFA Coach Educator, credentials that underline his expertise in modern coaching and player development.

Prior to joining Samartex, he served as head coach of Vision FC, where he earned plaudits for his commitment to youth development and his attacking brand of football.

At the international level, Agyemang is currently an assistant coach of Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, adding valuable national team experience to his coaching résumé.

FC Samartex believe his appointment reflects the club’s commitment to sustainable growth, youth development and competitive excellence as they prepare for the new campaign.

The Timber Giants will now look to Agyemang to build on the club’s recent progress and steer the team towards further success in the Ghana Premier League and other competitions.
