EXCLUSIVE: Ghanaian midfielder Ebenezer Ocran edges closer to Gor Mahia switch

Former FC Samartex 1996 midfielder Ebenezer Ocran is on the verge of completing a move to Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia, with talks between both parties now at an advanced stage, Ekuzoanews.com understands.

The 29-year-old is expected to put pen to paper and be officially unveiled by the record Kenyan champions once the remaining details of the agreement are finalised.

Ocran has been without a club since leaving Ghana Premier League side FC Samartex 1996 at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

The experienced midfielder has previously played for Skyy FC and Karela United, where he established himself as a reliable performer with his composure, work rate and tactical intelligence.

Primarily a central midfielder, Ocran is also capable of operating at centre-back, offering defensive solidity and valuable versatility, qualities that have made him an attractive target for Gor Mahia.

The Kenyan giants are keen to bolster their squad ahead of the new season as they aim to challenge for domestic honours and make a strong impression in continental competitions.

If the deal is completed, Ocran will become the latest Ghanaian player to join the Kenyan top flight, adding his experience and versatility to one of East Africa’s most successful clubs.
